Engineer Ioan Vasiloiu’s invention refers to an underwater mill with oscillating panels, conceived with the aim to capture energy from the ocean currents, tides, running waters or waterfalls.

But the world needed to know that too!

The Challenge

The inventor needed to spread the word about his marvellous work and we took it upon ourselves to tell the story of the Vasiloiu mill.

The Solution

The Tiny Studio worked on the product launch, web design and branding of The Vasiloiu Mill©, which was launched at the All Energy renewable energy exhibition and conference in Aberdeen, 2012.

We took this opportunity to launch our client's mill internationally, in front of renewable energy specialists, university professors, other inventors, visitors, exhibitors and investors.

On top of that, in partnership with our friends at Monitor Business Consulting Services, we looked after all 3rd party liaison with the exhibition center and presented the mill on site in Scotland.

Apart from designing the website of the mill and crafting all necessary basic marketing collateral, The Tiny Studio also looked after all PR traditional and unconventional strategies. We elaborated the press releases, worked in close liaison with journalists and media representatives and supported the concept development & implementation of an elaborate PR stunt for the mill, by recreating a water and wave scenery as well as a hybrid of the mill.

Outcome

The campaign led to an impressive footfall at our stand at All Energy in Aberdeen and a remarkable amount of business leads.
